res·o·nance - noun
"Electricity- that condition of a circuit with respect to a given frequency or the like in which the net reactance is zero and the current flow a maximum." This definition of resonance as electricity is a great scientific way of the truth - we are all energy. What frequency do you choose to resonate at?

how I do anything, is how I do everything
It's true. It's a lesson I learnt a long time ago but have to constantly remind myself. If I choose to make the smallest task complex - I will approach everything I do I will approach with complexity and struggle. If I choose to look at the most difficult task as easy - so be it. What's complex for me - is easy for someone else and so on.
I find what Andrew Cohen says in the video below on "moral development" as very related to this concept. He talks about how deeply we truly care - about the other (e.g. our partner), the others (e.g. our community), the world (yes, beyond the US), the Universe and life all up. Not just "lip service" but through my actions, my words, my cellular BEINGNESS - I make a difference. Each of us makes a difference. Our energy shifts the people around us. When I choose to be angry and crabby with my wife - that's what I get back. When I choose to be compassionate - the ripple effect plays right back at me.
So what's men's role with this concept? What's our responsibility with how we handle our shadow side? What's our role when we believe something must change - and sit back and let someone do it? Yes. I'm starting to talk about the critical vote all Americans must make in November 2008. More on that soon - but for now please comment on the questions I pose.

ReplyDeleteI heard someone say "I think local and act local" and it made sense to me. Focusing on problems too big for myself only causes anxiety. Instead I reframe the problem and think of what I can do to address it at my level. Today.
I think for men, beginning to recognize the importance of subtle gestures and energies is important. The masculine tends to focus on grand gestures and can be oblivious to to the significance of "the little things."

Also, I like Jim's comment. Stephen Covey (Seven Habits...) calls this working within your circle of influence.
